Fall Porch

Today I decided to "dress up" our porch for the fall season. So today we got some orange and yellow flowers, some pumpkins, gourds, and other fun fall type decorations. Below are some pictures of our porch area all dressed up for fall:

I put some burnt orange and red marigolds in mason jars to put on the porch table.
I love that I can also bring these inside as table centerpieces if I want to.

To dress up the mason jars and make them more festive I found some fall colored yarn,
that also matched the rest of our porch colors, and wrapped it around the tops of the mason jars.

We got this pumpkin lantern from target. I love that we have the jack-o-lantern  feel without the mess.

A pumpkin and gourd next to a planter we always have out.

I also added some marigolds to our lemon tree pot and put in a pumpkin sign
from target to make our lemon tree more festive.

This planter needed some new flowers so I added yellow mums and more of the orange/red marigolds.
I also put a gourd in that I thought went with the flowers well.

I think this ended up being my favorite gourd.

Close up of one of the marigolds.

Mums with a marigold in the background.

More fall gourds and a pumpkin.

We don't have anywhere to plant these "california  sunset" succulents yet so I
added some of my fall yarn around these as well to make them look a little nicer.

Another shot of this set up.

This is the first thing you see walking up our porch.
That guy behind our plants and gourds is Henry the peacock,

I hope you enjoy our fun fall porch. I know I am enjoying it! I am hoping it will morph a little more as the holidays come and go. I will keep you updated.

Labor Day Fun

We got the privilege of hanging out with my college roommate and his wife on Labor Day.  We hung out at the pool all day enjoying the weather and the sun.  Elise and I also brought along our croquet and bocce ball set.  We enjoyed playing and snapping pictures of the fun- below are some favorites.

Jen executing a nice roquet.

Elise starting out with a nice shot through the twin wickets.

Alex bouncing the ball up the hill.

Kent striking on line.

Jen admiring Elise's form.

Kent with a nice tweener.

Elise is not left-handed- this may be why she didn't clear the fence.

Sizing up her shot.

Our closes ball of the day goes to Jen.
About two blades of grass separated the balls.

The Kraushaar Kombo with two great throws.

Happy couple #1 cooling off in the pool.

Happy couple #2 enjoying the water.
